sligo creek TRAIL
Sligo Creek Trail is a 10.6-mile long, paved hiker-biker trail running along Sligo Creek. Most of the trail passes through beautiful tree-filled parkland, over wooden bridges and bubbling creeks.
Sligo Creek Trail connects to the southern edge of Wheaton Regional Park at Nairne and Ventura Aves. It then follows the Sligo Creek stream valley. At University Blvd. in Wheaton it begins to follow Sligo Creek Pkwy. weaving down the parkway all the way to New Hampshire Ave. in Takoma Park.

Rock Creek Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. Extending 12 miles from the Potomac River at the base of Georgetown to the Maryland border, then continuing 13.5 miles north through the course of Rock Creek Stream Valley Park and Rock Creek Regional Park in Montgomery County, this vast wonderland of nature offers a retreat from city life and an opportunity to explore the beauty of nature.
You can picnic, hike, bike, roller-blade, play tennis, fish and even horseback ride. Children can participate in a wide range of special programs including planetarium shows, animal talks, exploratory hikes, crafts, and junior ranger programs.
rock creek REGIONAL PARK - maryland
Rock Creek Regional Park in Montgomery County is an 1800 acres park including the beautiful 75-acre Lake Needwood and the picturesque 55-acre Lake Frank. You can enjoy the park's 13 miles of trails through woodlands and lake shores as well as picnicking, fishing, boating and viewing many species of resident wildlife.

Brookside Gardens is Montgomery County's award-winning 50-acre public display garden situated within Wheaton Regional Park. Included in the gardens are several distinct areas: Aquatic Garden, Azalea Garden, Butterfly Garden, Children's Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Style Garden, Trial Garden, Rain Garden and the Woodland Walk. The Formal Gardens areas include a Perennial Garden, Yew Garden, the Maple Terrace, and Fragrance Garden. Brookside Gardens also feature two conservatories for year-round enjoyment. A horticultural reference library is located in the airy Visitors Center. Admission is free.

Montgomery County Golf operates nine golf courses in and around the Baltimore and Washington DC metro golf area including Potomac, Silver Spring, Rockville and Bethesda Maryland. The nine courses: Falls Road, Hampshire Greens , Laytonsville, Little Bennett, Needwood, Northwest , Poolesville & Rattlewood Golf Courses all offer full-service golf facilities including snack bars, golf merchandise shops, golf instruction, golf leagues, golf practice ranges, golf putting greens, golf outings and golf tournament facilities. Sligo Creek Golf Course is a nine -hole course located inside the Washington DC beltway.
