For nearly 20 years, you have known us as “The Pure Energy Team”. Some called us the “Purple Paper People” due to our bright purple mailers sent out monthly to neighborhoods of Silver Spring. It’s been a wonderful ride and we’re so thankful for all the success we have enjoyed, but for 2014 we felt it was time for a change.
Coming soon, you will see Pure Energy become co-branded as a separate staging and design firm, with the ‘Donna Kerr Group’ being the title of the real estate business. We hope you will

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Me too.
I was looking for upcoming events in Silver Spring the other day and although I came across a few different websites with lists and calendars of activities, each of the websites had differing events and layouts, making the the process much more confusing than it needed to be. Cross referencing across several different websites to find fun things to do in Silver Spring can be tedious, so we have done the legwork for you by creating a Silver Spring events calendar that features the biggest and best variety of events we have scoured the web to find.
This interactive calendar will be updated at the start of each month with community events in the Silver Spring area. Here you will find detailed…

Basements are often a neglected area of the house, but when finished, they can add square footage, monetary value and additional living space to a home. We have put together a gallery of basement transformations (all by Pure Energy design) which illustrate just how much appeal a basement can have to a prospective buyer when it is presented in an inviting and functional way.
Basement tips from Pure Energy Design:
- Make sure your basement is dry! If it feels or smells damp we highly recommend that you use a dehumidifier. Buyers are very wary of homes with wet basements and are generally concerned about mustiness and moisture.

Lately navy blue has been popping up everywhere in home interiors. Historically, navy blues have generally been incorporated into interior decor in a more classic sense, portraying traditional, masculine or nautical aesthetics. This makes sense considering the color psychology of navy can mean regal, naval, academic, scholarly and seriousness. Over recent years, navy has been given a bit of a makeover and has moved into a contemporary context where instead of the color feeling heavy and traditional, it has become a popular hue, particularly as a paint color which is both daring and refreshing.
Inky navy's can be easily coordinated with a multitude of colors to create many different styles- modern, transitional, coastal, high end, mid-century and…

Here are some tips and considerations to take on-board before updating your dining room:

Pantone's color of the year for 2014 has been announced... And the verdict is RADIANT ORCHID! We are fans of this vibrant hue (as those of you who receive our monthly mailers can probably tell) and although this color is prevalent in fashion and beauty, many people are not big fans of it, as this shade of purple can be a tricky color to incorporate into home interiors.
We believe that every color can look great in the right context- it is all about the application and percentage it is used in. With that philosophy in mind, we have put together this blog post to inspire creative ideas and offer advice for how you can integrate Radiant Orchid into your home’s existing color palette.
Here is what Pantone had to say about their chosen color for…
